Estimating an Agile Project

David Cleary, CHARISMATEK Software Metrics, 9 February 2010

In today's software development environment where more and more projects are implemented using an Agile approach, the need for effective methods for estimating likely project duration, effort and cost that are properly aligned with the Agile approach has become paramount.

This webinar introduces the Story Point project sizing and estimation technique. It shows how to size an Agile project's collection of user stories using story points and then how to extend that size to determine early life-cycle estimates of likely project duration, effort and cost. It also shows how story points can aid in the effective allocation of users stories to particular project iterations.

This webinar is particularly relevant for software developers using an Agile development approach who require a systematic and straight-forward method that brings both confidence and predictability to their project schedule and budget estimates whilst retaining the benefits of flexibility and ongoing customer involvement offered by Agile.
